Whoever thinks that Malaysian education is tough is misinformed (or rock stupid). Well, at least in secondary level anyway.
After a year and a half in law school, I has finally dawned upon that I've had it easy in Malaysia. To do well, all you need is to memorise your shit better than other people, and poof, you will probably get good grades.
Such a simple formula. Like instant soup, just add hot water.
It is a whole new kettle of fish. Memorising your shit will at most get you a pass. To actually do well, you need to do some thinking. Critical fucking thinking. finding microscopic loopholes, extracting seemingly insignificant pieces of information and blowing it up to come up with revolutionary legal arguments, and generally, just doing a fuckload of thinking.
And Aussie lecturers don't make things any easier. You don't get spoon-fed any more. They just point you to a direction and expect you to find your own way.
Fuck. My head hurts.
But, after 20 years of inactivity, perhaps it is a good thing that I'm actually using my brains now.
Ian, out.
